The simple fact is that jarrah leaves are 10-fold poorer than P-rich agricultural (dicot) leaves, in P

In turn, jarrah wood is 10-fold poorer than jarrah leaves, in P.

This means two orders of magnitude of impoverishment of wood, in P

MUSHROOMS, USA

crude protein content about 17% (12-27%) (d.m.)

(but in case of Morchella, about 30% (d.m.)

Phosphorus about 0.40% (0.20-0.58%)

TASK Now compare these values with plants

More data for mushrooms:

crude protein about 23%,P about 0.55%

crude protein about 30%, P about 0.68%

Tropical grasses of the world have

P = 0.02-0.58%, mean = 0.22% P (d.m.)

Cattle requirement = about 0.17% P

So, Restios are hopeless for P, at about 0.1-0.3% P
